An Introduction to Strategy One!
Crisis in our communities!
America is in crisis! Governmental budgets are stretched beyond limits. Virtually every American city and county has been affected by escalating fuel prices, increased demand for services, and declining tax revenues.
Financial declines are increased crime go hand in hand. Whether you choose to address crime or revenue issues really makes no difference since they are so closely interrelated.
I recently sat in on a municipal workshop in a small Alabama city. The topic was what to do to combat a crime wave that had completely overwhelmed the local police department along with alternatives to address declining tax revenues and the need to cut operating costs. All city department heads were invited to attend (only one showed up) as well as members of the business, church, and school community (NONE showed up).
Only the Mayor and two members of the council were present. This same scenario is being replayed all over the USA. Apathy, indifference and fear, coupled with an attitude of "let someone else do it" is crippling our ability to help ourselves. If you are involved in municipal government and you would like some fresh ideas on how to address real problems, we invite you to review the information on this web page.
The information contain on this web page deals primarily with effective means to cut cost - in particular, vehicle expense. If you have a problem with thieves and robbers, please visit www.communityalliance.info. We are all familiar with copper thieves and white collar crime and shoplifting, but now we are dealing with a new form of criminal.
What you don't know CAN hurt you!
Alabaster, Alabama - August 2008: You didn't see the story of the convenience store robbery in the news or hear it on the radio, but it happened. The store was robbed, by a Mexican gang - most likely an MS-13 group operating out of Nashville, TN. What makes this robbery so unusual is the brutality involved. Store employees and patrons were savagely beaten without cause. It's not just happening in Alabaster. It's happening all over the USA, and it's not just MS-13, but MS-18 and a host of others as well. It's not Mayberry anymore!
As a municipal official, law enforcement officer, or retail merchant; you need to know about this growing threat and prepare to protect your community. Others have already started (
See http://www.nationalconcernedofficers.com/Mexican%20Gangs.htm). Background material on gang activity in America is available at http://www.isn.ethz.ch/news/sw/details.cfm?id=14715. We had to get our information from Zurich, Switzerland on what is happening in the USA! We've made it a little easier for you.
Now, the question is
what are you going to do about it? A good start might be to review our Community Alliance program and develop a working plan in your community. Additional information is available at
